Creativity is something sacred. It is the blend between the present and the future. Innovation means taking the risk of perceived difference. We don’t deserve our monumental creatives. Alexander McQueen, Jean-Michael Basquiat, Michael Jackson, Steve Jobs, Andy Warhol…. They have only been recognized for their genius level thinking after their deaths… In this video Blue is singled out for his appearance. But that isn’t the oppression that should be focused on. He isn’t allowed to express himself simply based on his appearance, he doesn’t fit a societal perception of conformity. Everything has turned extremely commercial and institutional. It’s been done to kill the idea of creativity or choice. When you go to the bagel store, you have many choices, but when you vote for a political leader in this country you only have two parties to choose from. It’s all been done to give the illusion of freedom. Creativity and expression is true freedom. The ability to add something to a society and have no limitations is real freedom. Don’t think of Blue as a person, think of him as an idea. Then watch the video from the vantage point of him being an idea or a symbol, watch the reactions and how he’s treated. The suit represents the idea being boxed in and combusting. Because of institutionalized stripping of creativity, Blue is beginning to combust, as he can’t deal with a world that will turn him outward.
